Featured Member: Al Bangura
Al Bangura was born in Sierra Leone, and unfortunately lost his father as a child. He fled to Guinea at the age of 15, and became a victim of human trafficking. The horrors of human trafficking took him from Guinea to France, and eventually to the UK. Thankfully Al was discovered by a Watford scout in 2004 and made his way into professional football. He now plays as a midfielder for St. Albans City. In 2007 he lost his asylum case to stay in the UK and was faced with the risk of being deported to Sierra Leone, where his life would be at stake. He eventually won his appeal, which was backed by FIFPro, Watford MP Claire Ward and the club's honorary Life President, Sir Elton John, along with other noteworthy figures.
